When trying to run a report, some new TimeClick® users may encounter an error message which displays as follows:
After pressing okay the following error will appear.
This is due to missing Windows files on your computer, but don’t fear—the fix is painless.
What is it?
In tech-speak, TimeClick uses a runtime program to generate the reports and requires the Microsoft Visual C++ files installed on your computer to accomplish that. In simpler terms, TimeClick needs that up-to-date Microsoft package in order to run. The updated file is supposed to install with TimeClick, but is sometimes blocked because of your Windows security or preference settings.
The solution
In certain cases, especially when Windows updates have not been performed according to their normal schedule, you may need to manually install the missing files. You may download it directly from Microsoft by clicking on the image below, or copy and paste the following into your browser:

The Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 SP1 Redistributable Package (x86) installs runtime components of Visual C++ Libraries required to run application developed with Visual C++ on a computer that does not have Visual C++ 2005 installed.
The installation is simple and should not require a restart. If you have additional questions, you are always welcome to contact us by email or at 435.753.4102.
