Upgrading Your Time Clock

We're excited for you to use TimeClick 2020 (TC20) to improve your time tracking experience!
There are some great new features added with more on the way. Upgrading is a simple process that only takes a couple minutes per computer.

Upgrading is free for TimeClick Unlimited members otherwise there is a separate fee for registering your TimeClick 2020 upgrade.

System requirements: The TimeClick server and workstation must be on Windows 7 or newer/Windows Server 2008 or newer.

Upgrade Instructions

Before you proceed check your current version!! This makes a big difference in the steps you will follow below. If you are currently running TimeClick 2018 or TimeClick 2019, the instructions for upgrading to TimeClick 2020 can be found here.

To check your version open TimeClick then click Help then About TimeClick. The corresponding version and instructions are below.

NOTE: If you disregard instructions specific to your version number you risk errors or other issues during the upgrade. Please follow the steps provided below to make this entire process smooth for everyone involved.

LE 16, LE 12, and LE SP1

TimeClick Server

1. Download the upgrade file
2. Run the upgrade installer
3. Click through the install wizard
4. Select "Yes" to convert your legacy (LE 16, 12, or SP1) database
5. Open TimeClick
6. Unregister your old version of TimeClick
   1. Open the old TimeClick server
   2. Enter Admin Mode
   3. Go to Utilities >> Transfer Key
   4. Unregister and write down your transfer key
7. Call or email our support team with the following info to register your new version:
   • Company Name
   • Your Name
   • Phone Number
   • TC20's Serial Number (found by clicking Days Left on Trial in TC20)

   If you have a TimeClick Unlimited Plan We will respond with your registration code within one business day.
   Otherwise we will reach out to you about purchasing the upgrade.

TimeClick Workstations

1. Download the upgrade file
2. Run the upgrade installer
3. Click through the install wizard
4. Open TimeClick
